Moncton Flight Information Region

The Moncton FIR is made up of the airspace above the atlantic provinces of Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island and New Brunswick.
It is one of the busier FIRs due to the large amount of traffic en-route from Europe to the US, and back.

Almost all the Moncton FIR is class E airspace from 2200ft AGL, except northern parts of New Brunswick which are uncontrolled below 12'500ft.

A serious complication is the high amount of restricted areas within the FIR. Most are active only by NOTAM, but the Restricted zone around CFB Gagetown (CYR724/725) is constantly active up to FL250 - which makes going around it necessary.

In the menu on the left you will find information and detailed procedures for controlling or flying within the FIR, sector files, and other resources.

We hope you enjoy your visit to Atlantic Canada.
